Description:
April 12 - Volcanoes and Floods in the Twin Falls Area
Led by Dr. Paul Link, Professor of Geology at Idaho State University, this trip will focus on geologic features near Twin Falls and includes site visits to a lava tube, evidence of the Bonneville Flood, and the geology of Swan Falls. The trip will register at the Idaho Museum of Mining & Geology at 7:30 AM with a departure at 8:00 AM. There will be some off-trail hiking, so good field shoes are recommended and a hiking stick/cane would be helpful for those with balance issues. No pre-registration required. Cost is $10 for IMMG members, $15 for non-members. Come prepared for a full day with plenty of food and water, and dress for all weather possibilities. If you have any questions, contact Steve at 853-1678.
