Description:
Our season closes with two powerhouse pieces. Jennifer Frautschi, two-time Grammy nominee and Avery Fisher career grant recipient, returns to perform Brahms's "Violin Concerto," called "one of the two best ever written." The Boise Philharmonic Youth Orchestra seniors join the orchestra in a rousing performance of Smetana's "Moldeau" which captures the magnificent Bohemian river as it traverses the fertile Czech countryside. The season concludes with Borodin's exotic and exciting Second Symphony, a tour de force celebrating the princes and warriors of ancient Russia. This piece will leave you and the orchestra breathless, and longing for the beginning of the next season.
