Planning for Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety
6:00 PM
COMPASS (Community Planning Association)
Description:
As the popularity of bicycling and walking has grown nation-wide, so have the number of crashes involving bicyclists and pedestrians. However, some communities have reversed this trend - crashes are going down as use goes up. Drawing on best practices from around the country, this two-hour presentation will provide a vision and framework for reducing bicycle and pedestrian crashes through better planning, engineering, education and enforcement; as well as strategies for fostering greater inter-agency cooperation and collaboration by defining roles and responsibilities.
