June marks the 55th anniversary of the first McDonald's restaurant in the Gem State. On Monday, June 13, festivities commemorating the milestone will be celebrated at two Boise restaurants -- 510 N Orchard Ave (site of the first restaurant) and 7222 Overland Rd (decorated with retro decor) -- and will include an appearance by Ronald McDonald. No purchase necessary. The event is free and open to the public. Festivities are subject to change.
